Theme Gardens

Patriotic Garden
Many of our country’s founding fathers were avid gardeners. We honor them and all others who serve our county with a Patriotic Garden. Red, white, and blue flowers complement plants with patriotic names. God Bless America.
Morning, Noon, and Evening Too:
From morning glories to evening primrose, this garden is beautiful all day long. Special attention to lighting demonstrates how to make your garden a place to relax and enjoy even after sunset.
Patio Garden:

If low maintenance is a necessity in your garden, maybe xeriscape is for you. The patio garden utilizes natives and other tough plants that need very little water. This garden makes the most of limited space to create a beautiful garden that is environmentally friendly.

Cut Flower Garden:

Bring the garden indoors with a continuous supply of cuttings. This garden will feature bloomers with a long vase-life and incorporate a variety of plants that will bloom in succession all season long.

Other Garden Plans for 2008

Design Demonstration Gardens:

To accommodate a series of design segments, we designed several beds with distinct styles. In one, contemporary and formal gardens are set in juxtaposition to compare the two styles. Both include bold geometric designs: formal gardens use plants to create lines and fill space, whereas contemporary gardens rely on few plants with strong architectural shapes along with well-defined hardscape. Our romantic garden, a style popular during the industrial revolution, evokes a sense of seclusion, providing a place to relax and dream.

Vegetable Garden:

We are moving our vegetable garden to a new site adjacent to our orchard. The new vegetable garden will be fully fenced to keep out unwanted wildlife. The design will include raised beds, space-saving ideas for small gardens, and will incorporate flowers and herbs to promote natural pest control.
