Garden Fest—Saturday, June 7
  • Each season, Oklahoma Gardening hosts Summer GardenFest, inviting viewers from across the state to the studio gardens for tours, workshops, activities, and a special guest speaker.
  • GardenFest 2008 Theme: Insects and Gardens
    • Date: Saturday, June 7
    • Time: 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
    • Free and open to the public although donations are appreciated.
    • For more information, call 405-744-5404.
  • Summer GardenFest 2008 celebrates the diversity and abundance of insect life in the garden. Leave your insect woes at the garden gate and be prepared for an entomological extravaganza. Discover how insects can be our allies in the garden, tour our butterfly garden, and sample some insect cuisine. Be sure to bring the kids and grandchildren who will squeal with delight as they come face-to-face with the live insects in the visiting Insect Zoo.
  • Keynote Speaker
    • Our keynote speaker this year is Eric Grissell, an entomologist and gardener who suggests it is time we "call a truce" with our insect enemies and instead learn about the many and varied roles insects play in the garden.
    • Eric Grissell bio
  • In case of inclement weather, all outdoor activities will be canceled. The presentation by Eric Grissel will still be held indoors. If rain is present early in the morning, please call 405-744-5404 for a recorded message pertaining to cancellation of outdoor events.
