April 10 & 11: Myriad Botanical Garden Plant and Garden Sale, OKC, OK. Spring has sprung and that means it’s time to plant! Jump-start your garden with bright blooms and lush greens from the Myriad Gardens’ Plant and Garden Sale. We’ll have everything you need to make your garden burst with color – and your neighbors green with envy – annuals, perennials, bedding plants, accessories and more! Plus, our experts will be on hand to help get you growing. Don’t’ miss this spectacular two-day sale 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. in the South Lobby of the Crystal Bridge. April 11 & 12: Join Tulsa Garden Center, 2435 S. Peoria as they host the annual SpringFest Garden Market and Festival, 9 am to 4 pm. Bring the whole family and get ready to spend a fun filled day at this spring event. On Saturday children will have the opportunity to enjoy face painting and the many different balloon sculptures created by the fabulous Gentle Jesters. Enjoy shopping among the beautiful landscape of the mansion’s front lawn where you will find plants, unique items for you, your home and garden. On the front veranda there will be a Window Box Contest for all Tulsa Garden Center Affiliate groups. The Affiliates are very creative, so be sure to check out all their beautiful window boxes. Conference is open to the general public. Public plant sale Saturday April 19 will feature heat tolerant plants for sale: Rhododendrons, unusual maples and other garden plants. April 19: OSU Horticulture Club Plant Sale, east of the OSU Teaching Greenhouses. Sale will begin at 8 a.m. - NO sales prior to 8 am that morning. Please check back later for more information. April 19 & 20: Bustani Plant Farm's plant sale begins at 9 am. As a specialty nursery, they grow unique, uncommon, hard-to-find, rare and unusual plants not available at most garden centers and nurseries. The Bustani Plant Farm Nursery will be open every Saturday and Sunday from April 19 through June 15. April 19: The American Begonia Society will host a begonia exhibit and plant sale on Saturday April 19, from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm at the Will Rogers Garden Center in Oklahoma City at the corner of I-44 and NW 36th Street. The Begonia Exhibit will display representative species and cultivars for the cane-like, shrub-like, rhizatomous and trailing growth classes of begonias. Make the Myriad Botanical Gardens your base of exploration during the 42nd annual Festival of the Arts. The Gardens are home to the Festival’s moving sculpture exhibit and kids’ activity tent. The newly renovated Water Stage will host a wide array of musical performances. The Crystal Bridge will be open extended hours during the Festival: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Sunday. Help the Crystal Bridge take a bite out of its pesky pest population with this annual ladybug release, part of our Integrated Pest Management Program. Thousands of these polka-dotted hungry helpers will chow down on pests that are bugging our plants. Great for the entire family and an excellent educational opportunity! Crafts, games and other bug-related activities are part of the fun. The release kicks off at 9:30 a.m. and ladybugs are only available while they last. Regular admission rates apply. May 10 & 11: Tulsa Area Iris Society is sponsoring a Second Iris Show at the Tulsa Garden Center, 2435 S. Peoria. Bring Mom by to see the hundreds of varieties of irises. The Gardens is one of several downtown attractions, including the Oklahoma City Museum of Art and Oklahoma City National Memorial, offering special admission rates. Pick up your Passport at the Crystal Bridge Gift Shop and prepare to explore the world. June 7: Garden Fest at the OSU Botanical Gardens, Stillwater, OK. Eric Grissell, keynote speaker, is a professional entomologist and amateur gardener with a humorous twist on garden writing. Grissell has gardened since the age of 8 and has been an avid entomologist since the age of 11. The day will be filled with horticultural presentations, demonstrations, and garden tours. Have a little sprout in your garden? Help them grow at our Junior Master Gardener summer camp. The Gardens welcomes children ages seven to 12 for a weeklong day camp introducing trees, flowers, insects and more. Registration is $35 and includes Crystal Bridge admission and all needed supplies.
